FALL RIVER, Mass, April 6th, 2005 - Lightolier introduces Three-Inch Evolution, the first-ever family of specification-grade downlights with an aperture less than 3".
Fall River, MA - Lightolier, the leader in specification-grade downlighting, recently introduced the Evolution Three-Inch family of MR16 recessed luminaires. At 2 7/8" diameter, Three-Inch offers the smallest aperture available with specification-grade performance and glare control. A breakthrough in optical and mechanical engineering, Three-Inch delivers the maximum usable light output while minimizing the presence at the ceiling. Like all Calculite Evolution products, Three-Inch offers a complete palette of interchangeable optical assemblies providing the power and flexibility to enrich virtually any commercial or residential environment.
"When it comes to cutting a hole in the ceiling, everyone agrees that smaller is better. The challenge was reducing the size of the aperture without sacrificing light output or glare control." says General Manager of Lightolier's Specification Downlighting Unit Ken Czech. "With the addition of Three-Inch to the Evolution product line, we've achieved the minimum feasible aperture and the most complete specification-grade downlighting line on the market."
Three-Inch features:
- Unitized optical assemblies guarantee precise alignment between the lamp and optics for consistent, reliable performance and maximum light output.
- Exclusive EZ-Aim gear drive adjustment mechanism delivers a full 45 degrees of vertical tilt and fast, accurate aiming and locking while the lamp is powered.
- Adjustable accent units provide a full 362 degrees of horizontal rotation, which also locks securely in place.
- Push-Lock™ trim retention system that accommodates ceilings up to 2" thick and allows for tool-less attachment.
- Flangeless trim option minimizes the transition from aperture to ceiling for a refined, seamless appearance.
- Complete palette of interchangeable trim assemblies, including general downlighting, adjustable accent, wall washing and wet location.
- Hinged transformer-mounting swings over the aperture allowing one-handed removal of the transformer (magnetic or electronic) from below the finished ceiling.
- Available pinhole faceplate is precision-machined from solid aluminum to provide the sharpest possible aperture edge and minimal flange thickness.
- Glasslite one-piece borosilicate glass trim is wet location listed and emits a soft glow for visual differentiation.
In total, Lightolier's Evolution line is the most comprehensive offering of general downlights, wall washers, adjustable accent and wet location fixtures in 3", 4.5", and 6" diameter apertures.
